 A few years ago we built the first "artist registry" (as far as we know) for NY gallery, White Columns. Today, we've added new features, capabilities, and functions to the system. At it's core, it still delivers an easy to manage system for artists to display and manage their work, and for galleries to build a strong, online community.

Raise Visibility of Artists
- The online artfile can serve as a centralized location to bring together the work of artists from all over the world, and bring that work to the attention of curators, galleries, and collectors.

- Creation of a site where artists, curators, and collectors can go to find the latest work, information, and events for thousands of artists. Additionally, a cross referencing system can be developed for a "social networking" effect.
Scalability
- Ability for the registry to handle to growth with the addition of artists or members. Additionally will have the ability for artists to have multiple "albums" of work.
Accounts
- The creation of password-protected accounts for administrators, artists, and registered users. Different levels of access shall be accorded to each user, which can be modified by the main administrator.
Favorites functionality
- The "Favorites" feature allows registered users to save artists as favorites. Registered users may save the records for future use, and may print and e-mail the list of records, which include the artists' information. Registered users will additionally have the ability to share a link to his/her favorites list if desired.
Updatable profiles
- The online CMS (Content Management System) allows the main administrator to modify, make labels and create reports from the database directly online. The CMS system also allows artists to update their profile information and upload content, modifications subject to administrator’s approval.
In-depth artist information
- Not only do artists be able to upload and manage images of their work, but they also have the ability to upload and display video content in a specified format, biographical information, self-photo, contact, and statement of work.
Flexibility in Design
- Ability for the registry to launch under your existing design and later easily be adapted into a site redesign.
